1st of November - not just the first for the month
Friday, November 3, 2006 at 7:01PM
Well we are now heading into the winter months and never did this seem truer than on Wednesday 1st November.
On Wednesday this week when we headed out to the car to go to work it looked like there was more condensation on the windows. This is not unusual for the car because of the way it sits in the drive in the shadow of the house. Anyhow we go it and started the engine and when we turned on the windscreen wipers there was a strange noise and low and behold - the first frost was here.
People may find it somewhat odd but I am a big fan of the winter and the first frost seemed to be heralding in the move towards winter. Just a few days before someone on the radio had been saying that it looked like this would be the warmest bon fire day in recorded history - this now seems to not be the case. I can now wear sweaters and not feel like I am melting - it’s great!
So far we now have 2 firsts - first of the month and the first frost (just in case you are keeping count)
We then headed into town and on the way to the offices I saw someone with a red coffee cup. So what you might say - it’s just a cup. If you are thinking this then you are somewhat mistaken.
You see red cups of this type belong to Starbucks - and these red cups signify that the Christmas drinks are out which means Gingerbread Latte's These have to be one of my top things ever.Â
Rob treated me to one and I have to say it made my day - a day of firsts - strange but true
