A christmas summary

Well thats another christmas over and done with. This is always the strange time of the year where we have the dip following too much turkey and other good things, all the time thinking about how we will pay for everything we have spent

Anyway for christmas this year we went down to stay with my folks in Davetry to have a family christmas down there, rather than up here in suny Glasgow. Anyway this was the first christmas that Rob was going to spend away from his family, so it was all a bit strange for him.

As per the rules of all things - it being holiday season and all - I have been struck down with the lugey and have spent a lot of the holiday season feeling like crud - but hey it makes a change from being sick at new year. With any luck I should be back up and running before New Year comes round.

The journey down was pretty uneventful - all things considered. The standard 6 hours with only 1 small delay - which when you think about the number of cars on the road was not too bad. Christmas eve took the form of preperation for the big day and a trip to the picture house to go and see Eragon before going to the midnight service at the local kirk.

Eragon was a film that had a lot of potential but it just never managed to live up to it. The plot did not seem to hold together which I thik had a lot to do with the way that they cut the film. There were large chunks that made no sense and quite a few continuity glitches as well. Usually I really like Jeremy Irons and John Malcovitch but they did not get the opertunity to do anything in the film other than look like they were bored and in a bad panto - and Robert Carlyle just did not seem to know what was happening.

Christmas day was cool - we had a slow start with everyone opening their stockings - which contained the usual fu stuff - nothing too useful but that is the whole point of them - they are supposed to be fun. We then went off to open gifts, and a lot of really cool stuff was had by all. As afternoon came upon us there was the requisite amount of playing with gadgets and games.

As a bit of a laugh I had purchased guitar hero 2 and we spent a few hours having a play at that . It is actually harder than you would thing - and after a few beers it is a lot of fun.

Boxing day involved a trip to Cambrridge to see my aunt and her family. A lot of good food was consumed and for some a lot of drink as well. I will get around to putting up a family picture in a few days when I work out how to get the images onto the mac. Anyway the trip home was somewhat more eventful and involved unexoected projectile vomit and Rob having to clean the car at 10.30pm.

Following this ' adventure' we spent an extra day at my folks allowing the car to have a further clean and de-stink though we did loose the nav cd for the car. It was actually good to have an extra day to re-coupe before heading back up North.

We are now back at home with stuff all over the place chilling out for the evening while watching NYPD Blue Season 1 on DVD.

Hope you all had a great christmas where ever you were. See you all soon - while now I require Tea.

Seasons Greetings

Well seasons greetings to one and all. For those of you that have yet to recieve your cards from us - that is because they are sitting on my table waiting for me to post them.

Things have been a bit chaotic here what with working long hours and getting everything sorted before we headed off to my folks for the festive period. Add to this some lurgie for both Rob and I and really we have not gotten round to much

Anyhow here is wishing one and all a very happy holiday season and all the best for the coming year - see one is late and the other early - I figure that means that in essance they are both on time (thats logic that is)

Funny videos from youtube

The internet is indeed a great and wonderful thing, if for no other reason than the fact you can spend hours looking at just general nonsense which means nothing at all, but does make you smile.  My preference (as you may have noticed from other posts) is for weebls  as you really cannot beat stupid cartoons and videos. Another great site for this is youtube.

I am sure that most of you are aware of what you tube does.  If not then you should have a look at the site.  Basically it allows people to post videos that they have made/taken/seen and make them available to other sad individuls (like me)  who have nothing better to do via the site.  Now a lot of the content there is pure unmitigated pap and is not worth spending the time on, but every now and then you will find something that makes you laugh your ass off, and when that is the case you just have to share.

So anyhow in the spirit of sharing here are the links to two videos that always make me laugh.  They have been generated by people who have the World of Warcraft game.  These guys have spent time syncing up some one screen antics with music and the output is really rather entertaining (and will make you laugh your ass off .........perhaps).  The first is a take on the song I'm too sexy.  I mean obviously some people have a lot of time on their hands to let them make these - but hell they entertain me.  This video does not have a well know tune to it but it is as funny as all hell - anyway click here if you are interested.

The links above will re-direct you to the relevant you tube page where you too can while away time watching cartoon videos and resist the urge to say  - Today Pinky we take over the world!

1st of November - not just the first for the month

Well we are now heading into the winter months and never did this seem truer than on Wednesday 1st November.
On Wednesday this week when we headed out to the car to go to work it looked like there was more condensation on the windows.  This is not unusual for the car because of the way it sits in the drive in the shadow of the house.  Anyhow we go it and started the engine and when we turned on the windscreen wipers there was a strange noise and low and behold - the first frost was here.
People may find it somewhat odd but I am a big fan of the winter and the first frost seemed to be heralding in the move towards winter. Just a few days before someone on the radio had been saying that it looked like this would be the warmest bon fire day in recorded history - this now seems to not be the case.  I can now wear sweaters and not feel like I am melting - it’s great!
So far we now have 2 firsts - first of the month and the first frost (just in case you are keeping count)

We then headed into town and on the way to the offices I saw someone with a red coffee cup.  So what you might say - it’s just a cup.  If you are thinking this then you are somewhat mistaken.

You see red cups of this type belong to Starbucks - and these red cups signify that the Christmas drinks are out which means Gingerbread Latte's  These have to be one of my top things ever.
Rob treated me to one and I have to say it made my day - a day of firsts - strange but true
